WHAT IS AN EDM WEDDING?

We define an EDM wedding as a wedding where we predominantly play electronic dance music. However, regardless of age, most people will know the words to almost every song played. For most EDM weddings, we start by playing upbeat light remixes and redrums of hits everyone knows. These remixes sound like the original songs; however, a little more of a beat is behind them to give them an electronic feel. Then very slowly, as the night progresses, we transition to more music with electronic elements. Mostly, these songs are still songs that everyone knows and can sing along to, but they are remixes and mashups that also include drops. By the night's end, it is an all-out rave where we play exclusively electronic music. Still, we only play the music that guests will be familiar with, and the drops will only be aggressive if requested by the couple.

For some people, "EDM" or Electronic Dance Music is a scary buzzword, including excessive partying, techno, and monotonous house beats, but that's not always true.
